SPED SPEC Special Education Services and Placement Calculator app for iPhone and iPad

The Special Education Services and Placement Calculator or Sped-Spec is the only Services & Placement Calculator on the Apple App Store. If you are a special education teacher, this application will help you determine the need for parent permission when updating your students Individual Education Plans.

This application will complete all the calculations needed to determine:

•whether a particular service has had a material change
•whether a placement change is substantial or not

Knowing this allows the education team to obtain the needed signatures to ensure compliance with IDEA.

No calculations must be done by the user. To determine service changes the user will enter current & proposed minutes for each service. To determine placement changes, the user will enter current & proposed total school day minutes, and current & proposed minutes the student spends without peers.

This application was based on both IDEA and the Kansas Special Education Handbook.
